Is my car on the list of the most stolen cars?

Does my car appear on the list of the most stolen cars? In the US, some 900,000 cars were stolen in 2020, according to the latest report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB). 11% more than stolen vehicles in 2019.

In its study, NICB published the list of the ten most stolen vehicles on the streets of the US, where they appear: the 2006 Ford Full Size Pick-up (44,014); Chevrolet Full Size Pick-up 2004 (40,968); 2000 Honda Civic (34,144); 1997 Honda Accord (30,814); 2019 Toyota Camry (16,915); 2020 Nissan Altima (14,668); GMC Full Size Pick-up 2005 (13,016); 2020 Toyota Corolla (12,515); Honda CR-V 2000 (12,309); 2001 Dodge Full Size Pick-up (11,991).

According to the NICB analysis, thieves’ preference varies by state and depends on whether it is a rural or urban area. In the latter, the pick-up is the least desirable.

The list of the ten most stolen cars in Florida shows that foreign lovers prefer, first, the 2006 Ford Pick-Up (2,096), 2020 Nissan Altima (1,278); 2018 Honda Accord (958); 2020 Toyota Camry (953); 2020 Toyota Corolla (926); 2020 Chevrolet Pick-up (880); 2019 Honda Civic (733); 2020 Chevrolet Malibu (504) 2011 Hyundai Sonata (499) and finally the 2019 Ram Pick-up (494).

To avoid being a victim of theft, different measures can be taken that make it difficult for thieves to act, such as: removing the keys from the car ignition when parking, closing the doors and windows when leaving, parking in well-lit areas, placing alarms in your vehicle, when leaving it in an unsafe place, place a lock on the pedal and you can also install a GPS tracker -Tracking Device- to keep it located all the time.
